There were two choppers who dominated the field - Joe Rattray from Tasmania and Herberton local Blake Foster taking out a number of sections.
However, FNQ Axemen’s Association president Bill Leet said all choppers put on a fantastic display of showmanship entertaining the crowds who came to watch throughout the day.
“This is the first time the Village has hosted an event such as this and the feedback definitely is that it was a resounding success. There was a great atmosphere and the choppers had a great day,” he said.
Taking out the 275mm Underhand was Joe Rattray, followed by Greg Baxter and Denis Howard.
In the 250mm Standing Block it was Blake Foster who took out the win followed by Joe Rattray and Ken Olney.
In the 275m Standing Block, it was Blake Foster, followed by Joe Rattray and Martin O’Toole.
In the two man underhand and second division two man combination it was the partnership of Joe Rattray and Marty Conole, who is 83, that triumphed.
While the first division two man combination was taken out by Les Rattray and Greg Baxter.
“All in all it was a great day and we are looking forward to working with the Village again next year,” Mr Leet added.
