This is the fifth tourism award the Herberton-based attraction has received in the last four years including a bronze at the Queensland Tourism Awards last year.
Village owners Craig and Connie Kimberley said they couldn’t be prouder to receive the prestigious TNQ Tourism Award.
“It’s a huge honour to accept this award, especially given the incredibly high standard of travel and tourism product on offer in this region.
“It has been a very busy year for us at the Village. Highlights include a visit from the Emirates Melbourne Cup, Pioneer Weekend, the Today Show as well as the opening of several new attractions.
“There is always something new to see at the Village and we are looking forward to next year when we continue to expand our collection as well as open the iconic Elderslie House to the public for the first time and other bigger projects that have been underway over the last two years.”
Craig said none of this would have been possible without the dedication and commitment from team members at the Village, volunteers and the wider Herberton community.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their ongoing support over the last five years and look forward to many more exciting times ahead,” he added.
The awards are designed to recognise and reward the extraordinary tourism experiences and services the TNQ region has to offer.
They showcase the best in the industry for their outstanding customer service, innovation and ongoing business excellence.
